Acknowledgment of Country

At Neurodiversity Unravelled, we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live and work. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded and honour the enduring connection of First Nations peoples to land, waters, culture, and community.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples whose voices have often been overlooked or silenced.

We recognise the ongoing impacts of colonisation and how it continues to shape systems that fail to meet the diverse needs of all people. At Neurodiversity Unravelled, we are committed to challenging these systems and creating environments that are inclusive, respectful and aligned with the strengths and wisdom of First Nations peoples.

In all our work, we will actively seek the advice and support of First Nations communities to ensure our practices honour their knowledge, culture and lived experiences. We believe that through collaboration and respect, we can foster more equitable and meaningful outcomes for everyone.

We acknowledge and celebrate the rich diversity within Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD)  communities, recognising the intersectionality of identities across spectrums such as gender, sexuality and disability.

We honour LGBTQIA+ individuals, trans and gender-diverse people, women, and neurodivergent members within these communities, understanding that their experiences often sit at the crossroads of multiple systems of marginalisation.

By recognising these intersecting identities, we strive to ensure that all voices are valued, respected, and included in creating equitable, inclusive spaces that celebrate the full diversity of First Nations peoples and CALD communities.

"We Celebrate Inclusion with Progress Pride and Disability Pride"

We celebrate inclusion by recognising the Progress Pride and Disability Pride flags as symbols of diversity, equity, and resilience.

The Progress Pride flag represents LGBTQIA+ communities while also honouring people of colour, trans and gender-diverse individuals, and those lost to or living with HIV/AIDs. The Disability Pride flag celebrates the diverse experiences of people with visible and invisible disabilities.

These flags highlight the rich spectrum of human diversity and the importance of creating spaces where everyone is valued, respected, and included.

"We are guided by our own lived experience and commitment to social work values of dignity, inclusion and equity, we embrace these symbols as part of our dedication to fostering equity and inclusion for all."
